The NCA Development Team helps committed junior riders move forward through a combination of coaching, race support, training opportunities, and athlete development. The focus is on building confidence, sharpening skills, and helping riders reach their potential both on and off the bike.

Applications are now closed for the Northumbria Cycling Academy (NCA) Development Team, a programme for ambitious Junior riders who want to train with purpose, race with confidence, and develop in a supportive team environment.
The Development Team is designed for a small group of committed riders with the attitude, consistency, and potential to take the next step in their cycling journey.

Before applying, please make sure you meet the following criteria:
· Active participation in NCA activity
· Regular competition at regional or national level
· Clear commitment to progressing in competitive cycling
· Willingness to engage in team training and events
· Be a member of a North East cycling club (required)
· Be within the Junior age category (primarily U18)
Selection will be based on the following essential and desirable criteria:
· Essential criteria: active participation in NCA activity, regular competition at regional or national level, clear commitment to progressing in competitive cycling, and willingness to engage in team training and events
· Desirable criteria: strong motivation and development focus, contribution to team culture, consistent race attendance at national level, and multi-discipline engagement where relevant
· Selection also considers: attitude and coachability, race behaviours and decision making, and how riders represent their club, NCA, and the wider community
